Last week, the French International School welcomed a guest from the USA. Christopher Mead visited Ukraine with the aim of making a documentary film « The Soldiers of Learning » about life and learning during the war. This is not the first common project with the French International School. For two years in a row students have the opportunity to communicate with American peers thanks to the « Ukraine-USA Pen Pal Program ». In addition, within the framework of this program in February 2023, a writing contest « What the Last Year Has Meant to Me » was organized, in which the 8th grade student Dominika Chernushenko took 2nd place. Christopher Mead personally congratulated the student and wished her success in her studies. Mr Mead also communicated with grades 6, 7 and 8 about their hobbies and plans for the future. He indicated a high level of English at school (as even the children in the kindergarten and 1st grade sang English songs). The director of the French International School Tiphaine Henry and coordinator of English teachers Bohdana Khymych thanked Christopher for his volunteer activities to improve education in Ukraine and discussed common projects with the French International School.
